【摘要】:Vulcanizedrubberandthermoplasticelastomers(TPE)oftenfailinserviceduetothegenerationandpropagationofaspecialtypeofrupturecalledatear.Thistestmethodmeasurestheresistancetotearingaction.Tearstrengthmaybeinfluencedtoalargedegreebystress-inducedanisotropy(mechanicalfibering),stressdistribution,strainrate,andtestpiecesize.Theresultsobtainedinatearstrengthtestcanonlyberegardedasameasureundertheconditionsofthatparticulartestandmaynothaveanydirectrelationtoserviceperformance.Thesignificanceofteartestingmustbedeterminedonanindividualapplicationorproductperformancebasis.1.1Thistestmethoddescribesproceduresformeasuringapropertyofconventionalvulcanizedrubberandthermoplasticelastomerscalledtearstrength.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
